Gateway

Our Gateway Coordinator, Michelle McCuin, runs a course for our Year 12 students that is aimed at helping students into their chosen field of work or study. Students undertake NZQA standards that are focused on developing the necessary skills and meet the necessary requirements to enter the workplace. Many training opportunities are offered to students throughout the year, including exploring their field of study at SIT and gaining on-site workplace experience that can lead to future apprenticeships and jobs. The Gateway programme is aimed towards Year 12 students who don't want to go to university but want to explore and develop the necessary skills and experience for the workplace. Students are welcome to pop in and discuss the opportunities available to them with Mrs McCuin in the Gateway office.
